SUMMARY:Winter Tree Tour: Our Native Trees
DESCRIPTION:Winter is a time to appreciate the architecture of our native trees\, which is more evident when they have no leaves. But\, they are not necessarily naked\, in late winter\, with catkins about to open and some of last year’s fruits still hanging. Some of our trees\, such as English Oak\, Ash and Horse Chestnut\, are inherited but the park embraces our connection to our natural history and many trees planted since 2007 are native Silver Birch\, Hornbeam\, Aspen\, Hazel and Hawthorn. \nRebecca Porter\, our Wildlife Officer will take you on a tour of our native trees\, considering their historical uses\, tell you stories of their weird and wonderful relationships with insects they support or depend upon and discuss survival and adaption to the wetland habitat they live in. \nThe tour will end in the pod last where there will be an opportunity to meet local artist Stephen Bithell who will embellish the curious connection between Oak trees\, an insect\, humans and history. \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n 25th 0f February – 10.00am – 12.30pm\n  \nSpaces are limited to 8 people.\n  \nClick below to secure your place!\n  \nThis event is strictly for attendees aged 14 and over.\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Book Here
