SUMMARY:Introduction to Lichens Tour
DESCRIPTION:Lichens are sometimes called lichenised fungi because they are mostly made up of a fungus that harbours cells\, either algae or cyanobacteria\, within their structure. Join our Wildlife Officer\, Rebecca Porter for this special tour of the diverse lichens we have around the park. She will introduce you to the three main structural types; foliose (leafy)\, fruticose (bushy) and crustose (crusty) as well as several more unusual forms. Then\, how to identify which of several strategies each lichen uses to reproduce the all important partnership will be covered as well as other identification features.
