Come\, explore and contribute to the thriving ecosystem we have cultivated.\n  \n \n\n  \nArrive at Sculpture by the Lakes – 9am\nRebecca will meet you in The Makers Yard and take you to our Moth Trap to investigate the species caught overnight before releasing them. Did you know there are over 2500 species of Moth in the UK? This is a vital part of our contribution to conservation efforts. During this time you will have a dragonfly checklist\, see how many you can spot! Rebecca will also teach you how to identify birds by their song. You never know what you are going to see on Rebecca’s walks\, so bring your binoculars and get ready!\nAt the end of the guided walk\, you are welcome to spend the rest of the day enjoying the art\, nature\, and peace of Sculpture by the Lakes.\n  \n  \n \n\n  \nThe Ticket Price of £22.50 includes £5 to spend in the café. SUMMARY:Summer Fruit Tree Pruning Workshop with John Cunningham
DESCRIPTION:Summer pruning of fruit trees is as important as winter pruning. Summer is the time to clear out non-fruiting wood from apple and pear trees\, but also to look at pruning stone fruit trees like cherries and plums. \nIn this one day workshop we will go through all the different aspects of summer fruit tree care\, from the correct tools to use and how to look after them\, right through to the cuts themselves\, with practical work on the trees that grow in the Kitchen Garden at Sculpture by the Lakes. \nOur tutor for this workshop is John Cunningham. \nTrained at The Royal Botanical Gardens\, Edinburgh\, and a qualified designer\, John specialises in pruning and garden development for private clients. He has planted over 60 Royal Horticultural Society and International Show gardens over the past 30 years and has judged for the RHS since 2013. He shares his knowledge with humour and passion. \nYou can bring your own secateurs if you would like but please ensure they are sharp and are clean and disinfected before you arrive. You will need to bring your own lunch\, or you can book a table with The Kitchen on kitchen@sculpturebythelakes.co.uk \nArrival is from 10am and the course starts at 10.30am. We break for lunch at 12pm and resume at 1pm finishing at 4pm. \n  \nReserve your place here:\n  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Book Here
